I started writing as soon as I could hold a pen. I've always been in love with books and there was never any doubt about what I wanted to be, what I wanted to do with my life. I wrote poetry and short stories in my youth and at fifteen, I submitted my first YA handwritten manuscript to Harlequin. I have no idea where the courage to that came from-probably a young arrogance. The rejection letter was so encouraging and kind that I continued writing until I graduated high school...Then real life happened lol. Multiple jobs to pay rent, university courses stealing my time and focus and boys...oh the boys that stole my heart:) Who had time for writing??
When I had my son, I decided it was time to pursue my passion again. I wanted him to see that dreams can come true if you work hard and believe in yourself. And I wrote my first published manuscript with my baby boy sitting on my lap.
Six years later, I'm doing what I love-writing uplifting stories with Happily Ever After endings!
Then in 2017, I decided to write a different kind of relationship story. I had an idea for a domestic noir and the pull to write it was so strong, I couldn't ignore it anymore lol. And in 2018, the book sold in a 2 book deal and my alter-ego J.M. Winchester was created.
